About the COVID-19 Impact and Recovery Hub

Recent data shows unemployment claims at their lowest levels since the start of the pandemic. Data for air travel passengers shows a 20% increase compared to last year. In addition, consumer prices were 8.25% higher than in August 2021, one of the largest 12-month increases in the past 40 years.

Retail sales reached one of their highest points since the pandemic’s start, at $683.3 billion. At the same time, household spending and personal income increased by 4.8% and 15.5%, respectively.
