The OER Fellowship kicks off November 17, 2026. Over three months, Fellows design an Open Educational Resource (OER) that integrates USAFacts data, visualizations, and videos, then publish it on the USAFacts Hub on the OER Commons digital library. Fellows receive a stipend upon completing six synchronous sessions and the asynchronous work to publish their OER.
Eligible applicants are high school educators who have previously designed and published OER. Selection is based on experience, expertise, a personal statement on motivation for the Fellowship, ability to commit to the sessions, and diversity of communities served.
Applications are open now through November 4th; Fellows will be notified by November 9.
USAFacts and the Institute for the Study of Knowledge Management in Education (ISKME) built this Fellowship to pair your expertise in pedagogy and standards with USAFacts’ expertise in public data and visualization.
Your finished OER doesn’t stay in a drawer. It publishes on the USAFacts Hub, where other educators across the country can find it, use it, and build on it.
Questions about the OER Fellowship can go to ISKME’s Director of Training and Design, Megan Simmons ([email protected]).
USAFacts is a not-for-profit, nonpartisan civic initiative that makes government data easy to find, understand, and use. We pull from official government sources and turn them into visualizations, articles, and tools — no spin, no agenda, just the facts. Ad Fontes Media rates news sources on reliability and bias. In their May 2026 Media Bias Chart, USAFacts scored highest on reliability and lowest on bias of any source on the chart.
