High school dropout rate

The high school dropout rate is calculated as the percentage of people 16 to 24 years old who are not enrolled in school and lack a high school diploma or GED. For more information on high school graduation, look at the status completion rate or the public high school cohort graduation rate. The former looks at the percentage of all people 18 to 24 years old who graduated high school or have a GED, no matter how long it took them. The latter shows the percentage of high school students who graduate with a standard diploma within four years.
