Extended benefits are available to workers who have exhausted regular unemployment insurance benefits during periods of high unemployment. Aggregate extended benefits paid is calculated as the benefit checks issued (plus or minus adjustments) during an extended benefit period to claimants following exhaustion of their rights to regular benefits.
