Fires

This is an estimate from National Fire Protection Association survey data, which is used in US Fire Administration reporting, of all fires reported nationally — including those in homes, buildings, and other structures, vehicles, and major wildfires. For more detailed information on wildfires specifically, see the number of wildfires and acres of wildfires according to the National Interagency Fire Center.

There were 1.35 million fires in the US in 2021, a decrease of 2.5% or 35,000 fires from 2020.
