Counterfeit import seizures

Counterfeit import seizures

US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) processes imports and seizes goods that infringe on US trademarks or copyrights. This statistic reflects the total number of seizures from cargo containers and international mail shipments. CBP estimates the value of these counterfeit goods through both their real cost and the suggested retail price of their genuine counterparts.

There were 27,115 counterfeit import seizures in the US in 2021, an increase of 2.3% or 612 seizures from 2020.
