Border apprehensions

Border apprehensions represent people who are stopped by border patrol in the course of attempting to illegally cross a US border. Border apprehension data does not include when a person seeks lawful admission to the US but is denied entry, or individuals using the legal asylum process to gain humanitarian protection. Most apprehensions occur along the Southwest border of the US.
