This is a measure of the average age of children in the foster care population. It is based on the children in care on September 30th, the end of the fiscal year, rather than on all children who participated in the system over the course of the year.
In 2021, the median age of children in foster case was 7 years of age, a decrease of 0.7 years of age or 9.09% from 2020.
