Percent of adults who smoke

The smoking rate for the US adult population comes from the Behavioral Risk Factors Surveillance System, built by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It includes all adults who currently smoke cigarettes either every day or some days.

There was 11.1% of adults in the US who smoke in 2021, a decrease of 1% from 2020.
